Introduction
The purpose of this position is to ensuring that the company's stock levels meet business needs. You will be responsible for tracking all stock movements, updating internal inventory systems, keeping abreast of stock levels and daily, weekly and monthly reporting. The Inventory Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing inventory levels, identifying trends, and making recommendations to optimize inventory management. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure inventory accuracy and availability to meet customer demand.
Job description
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and minimizing excess stock
- Data Analysis: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and recommend adjustments based on findings
- Reporting: Prepare reports and dashboards on inventory performance metrics such as Scrapping, Installations, Inter-Branch movements, etc.
- Collaboration: Work with procurement teams to ensure timely replenishment of stock and engage with sales and installation teams to align inventory levels with requirements
- Stock Audits: Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to verify on-hand inventory quantities and reconcile discrepancies
- System Utilization: Utilize inventory management software and ERP/WMS systems to track inventory levels, orders, and deliveries effectively
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes and reduce costs. Develop and implement best practices for inventory management
- Risk Management: Assess risks related to inventory and supply chain disruptions and recommend strategies to mitigate these risks
- Training: Provide training and support to other staff members on inventory management practices and tools
Minimum requirements
- Completed Matric qualification
- Supply Chain Degree or Industrial Engineer Degree
- Logistics Diploma / Degree - Warehousing
- Min 5 years’ experience as an Inventory Analyst non-negotiable
- Must have previous stock reconciliation and balancing experience
- Knowledge of ATM Parts would be beneficial
- Occupational Health and Safety knowledge would be an advantage
- Report writing and problem solving skills
- Advanced problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing stock variances and challenges
- MS Office, Excel and working knowledge of WMS / ERP system especially on Business Central will be advantageous
- Working knowledge of an Operating stock management system
- Must have strong analytical skills to collect, process, and interpret large amounts of data from various sources
